Songbird is an iTunes alternative for organizing and playing digital music. Songbird also integrates contextual content from around the Web, giving you a multi-dimensional music experience. Lyrics, videos, concert dates, and more to give you a deeper experience of your music. My team and I designed the mobile and desktop experience.
On one hand we wanted to create a familiar music playing experience similar to other music apps, yet still convey the expansive opportunities in music exploration.
The desktop app parallels iTunes as a music player, but also permits open-source developer-built extensions that expand the experience.
We focused on making different kinds of content easily accessible while listening to tracks.
